Say Hello To Reggie, He is a pretty unique camper and not what you would expect from an 80s
C.i. Travelhome.
A factory fitted 3.0 V6 with
overdrive, LWB with twin rear axle.
Reggie has been rebuilt by myself 5 years ago to save it from the crusher, and
the work was fully extensive. All the interior was stripped out, and all the timber framing holding the walls and
roof together were replaced along with all the window frames. The luton (bunk)was taken apart and new timber put in and
new perpex glass. The walls were battoned and lined with 6mm plywood and a new floor put down. The interior fittings came
out of a Lunar Meteorite caravan and was adjusted and trimmed to fit. This van is now completely watertight.
Washroom has a Thetford cassette toilet with pull down sink and vanity cupboard, hot and cold water. Kitchen has 2 ring
burner and grill, sink and drainer, oven and 3 way fridge. Carver 3 way water heater and Carver crystal water pump. Grey tank
under van Fiamma wind out awning and rear door awning New engine and leisure batteries 2 gas bottles Roll along water
carrier Towbar
Seats folds down to make a huge 6.5 x 6.5 in bed and the luton is a small double, ideal for 2 children.
The interior cab is in superb condition with all switches and gauges working.
The exterior has had new metal
in the scuttle and window frames and the door bottoms and one wing. Spring hangers and sills had new metal. The whole van
was hand painted with a roller and looks very tidy indeed.
The engine has had new valve guide seals, electronic ignition
and new coil, new Weber carburettor, refurbished starter motor, 76000 miles and I believe this to be correct,
starts and drives as it should, and it has never let me down and pulls a caravan with no effort at all. This van has
all the mod cons for everyday camping and can still be taken to shows especially withe Euroliner wheels trims.
Everything
works as it should all 3 way appliances work on gas, 240 and 12 volt, the only thing I'm having trouble is the flush
on the toilet which I hope is an easy fix, but still, I just used a jug to rinse last time I went away.
I've
spend 3 years restoring this van and have a comprehensive rebuild file Inc all the resto pics and costs and all the
things ive replaced.
You wont find another van like this. Like i said ive done this 5 years ago so its not a fresh
rebuild and so should not be looking for perfection, there are some bubbles and the paint although has a lovely shine isnt
a spray job. passed every MOT since and not even 1 advisery.
if your worried about fuel costs it does about 19 to
the gallon, and i use Castol lead replacement additive. Oh, no power steering im afraid.
Any questions please ask,
but i would strongly advise anyone to come and view before making a commitment as if your not into classics, driving an
old van can be a challenge, although this van is fast and has good brakes.
This is a cash on collection or bank transfer
only and can be viewed in the Luton and Dunstable area.
Price = £5,000
